Friday-Sunday, April 13-15:
30th Annual Mashpee SuperSwim, Johns Pond, Mashpee, MA. Half-mile, 1-mile and 3-mile events. Ideal place to swim with clear, clean, warm water. Post-race lunch on the beach.
Saturday, June 23:
13th Annual Narrow River Turnaround Swim, URI Campanella Rowing Center, North Kingstown, RI. One mile open-water race and fundraiser for the Narrow River Preservation Association.
Saturday, June 30:
25th Annual Buzzards Bay Swim, New Bedford to Fairhaven, NA. 1.2 mile open water race and fundraiser for the Buzzards Bay Coalition.
Saturday, July 7:
7th Annual Fire Island Ocean Swims & 2018 USMS 5K National Championship, Antlantique Beach, Fire Island Pines, NY. Events include 400-meter (ages 10 and under), 1-mile (ages 11+), 5K (USMS National Championship sanctioned) and 10K ocean swim races.

2018 Bay State Games - Masters Swimming, Blodgett Pool, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. Annual long-course meters meet. recognized
Sunday, July 8:
1st Annual Clean Ocean Access Swim to Skim (formerly the Newport Sharkfest Swim), Newport, RI. Two distances to choose from: 0.9 mile or 1.5 mile open-water swim through Newport Harbor from Perrotti Park to King Park. Clean Ocean Access will provide a pancake breakfast at the finish line. Rumor is RI native and former World Champion & Olympic Medalist Elizabeth Beisel will be swimming.
Friday, July 13:
Swim Across America Boston Harbor Open Water Swim, Rowes Wharf, Boston, MA. Annual 22-mile relay-style open water swim and fundraiser to collectively "Make Waves to Fight Cancer."
Saturday, July 14:
8th Annual Waterman Eco-Challenge, Narragansett Town Beach, RI. One-mile swim and three-mile paddle board races with awards, sponsor tents and environmental awareness displays.
Swim With A Mission, Newfound Lake, Grafton County, NH. 1K, 5K and 10K individual swims, 10K team relay swim (3-5 people). Enjoy a day of competition, live military demonstrations, music and more. Last year’s event had over 2,000 attendees and raised over $370,000 to support Veterans.

Jenny Thompson LCM Masters Meet, Jenny Thompson long-course meters pool, Dover, NH. Hosted by Great Bay Masters. sanctioned
Saturday, July 21:
4th Annual Misery Challenge, Manchester-By-The-Sea, MA. A 3-mile open-water swim from scenic Tuck's Point to Misery Island and back. There are also 4-mile rowing, kayak and SUP races around the island. Festivities include music, micro-brews, food, kids games and awards/prizes.
Saturday July 28:
Peaks to Portland Swim to Benefit Kids, Casco Bay, Portland, ME. A 2.4-mile open water swim across Casco Bay from Peaks Island to Portland’s East End Beach. This event dates back to before World War II.
10th Annual Kingdom Swim, Lake Mephremagog, Prouty Beach, Newport, VT. 25 km border buster, 10 mile, 6.2 mile (10 km), 3.1 mile (5 km) and 1 mile races in this fresh-water lake. 150-swimmer cap covering all distances. sanctioned (TBD)
Saturday-Saturday, July 28- August 5:
2018 UANA Pan Am Masters Championships, YMCA Aquatic Center, Orlando, FL. Pool events 7/28-8/4, open water events 8/5. (In order to support the 2018 UANA Pan American Masters Championship, USMS is not holding Summer LCM Nationals in 2018.) sanctioned
Saturday, August 4:
42nd Annual Save The Bay – Narrangansett Bay Swim, from Newport Navy Base, Newport, to Potter Cove, Jamestown, RI. A 1.7 mile (2 nautical mile) open water swim across the channel along the span of the Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge. Save The Bay’s largest annual fundraiser to help protect and restore the Narragansett Bay region. Join SwimRI’s 2018 Save The Bay team.
Saturday August 11 - Sunday August 19:
NEK Swim Week, Newport, VT. Nine days of swimming (46 total miles) in eight legendary lakes in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Hosted by the Northeast Kingdom Open Water Swimming Association and Kingdom Games.
Sunday, August 12:
Casco Bay Islands SwimRun, Portland, ME. Two-person team event. Choose either the long or "short" course. Long Course: 4.25 miles open water swimming + 20.25 miles overland running across 11 islands. Short Course: 2.5 miles swimming + 11.75 miles overland running across 6 islands.
Saturday, August 25:
Nubble Light Challenge, York, ME. A popular, rocking and rolling 2.4 mile open water swim race from Long Sands Beach to Short Sands Beach, going through "the gut" between the Nubble Light House and the mainland. Unpredictable surf conditions, and the ocean temperatures can be in the low to mid 60s even in August.
Saturday, September 8:
Swim Across America Rhode Island Open Water Swim, Roger Wheeler Beach, Narragansett, RI. One-mile and half-mile fundraising open water swims to support cancer research and clinical trials. The 2017 event included music, food, Olympians, clinical investigators, cancer survivors and more than 600 swimmers! Join SwimRI's SAA-RI fundraising team to support a worthwhile cause and enjoy a morning of swimming and socializing on the beach. Some SwimRI members continue the fun at George's of Galillee.
25th Annual Provincetown Swim for Life & Paddler Flotilla, Provincetown, MA.
Saturday, September 15:
IGNITE SwimRun Rhode Island, Fred Benson Town Beach (Block Island), New Shoreham, RI. A multi-stage competition in which two-person teams run and swim through a cross-country race course involving many transitions. Long Course: 5 miles open water swimming + 12 miles overland running. Short Course: 2 miles swimming + 9 miles overland running.
Saturday, October 13:
11th Annual October Swim Fest Masters Mini Meet, Holmes Sports Center Pool, Simmons College, Boston, MA. sanctioned
Annual Membership Meeting, USMS New England Local Masters Swimming Committee, Simmons College, Boston MA. After the October Swim Fest mini meet the NELMSC will provide a free hot lunch for those attending the annual meeting. All current USMS members registered in the NELMSC are free to attend and vote on LMSC business.

HAWKtoberfest Alumni & Masters Mini Meet, Roger Williams University, Bristol, RI. SwimRI and other participants lunch at Aidan's Pub. recognized
Saturday, November 17 (tentative):
7th Annual SwimRI "Stuffies v Steamers" Intra-Squad Dual Meet, Providence College Taylor Natatorium, Providence, RI. Informal, high-school-style dual meet where each swimmer races in 1-2 individual events and 1-2 relays. Team lineups and meet sheets are determined by the captains -- Doug Sayles for Stuffies and Trent Theroux for Steamers. Post-meet dinner/party at Ladder 133 Sports Bar & Grill. The losing team buys the first round.
